This work is a selection from Ritual Care – an on-going exploration of photographer Joe Librandi-Cowan’s relationship with his mother and how it relates to notions of home, memory, and care.
The work centers around images of his childhood home, made immediately before it was demolished, which are paired with portraits of his mother as she ages. The work questions, pushes upon, and provides care and understanding for familial traumas that shape life – existing as a space of love, processing and growth.
